Budtenders are required to assist customers in selecting suitable cannabis products. The responsibilities of a budtender include greeting and welcoming customers, informing the manager of customer complaints and operational issues, and sharing firsthand experiences of cannabis products to address customer concerns. Budtenders also should answer all questions or concerns customers may have regarding cannabis, its medicinal uses and methods of consumption. Budtenders are also required to work the front reception, assist in product labeling and intake of new or returning customers when needed or called upon. This includes verifying medical recommendations and entering correct documentation within the system. As a budtender, you should be able to demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills by ensuring customers are well-informed and satisfied with their purchases.
Duties:
- Advising customers on suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to difference strains of cannabis and/or products.
- Processing customer payments using the dispensaries Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Ensuring that the dispensary is clean and well-organized at all times.
- Educating customers on the safe use of selected cannabis products.
- Accurately and without mistake open and close your cash drawers for every shift.
- Correctly and accurately fill customer orders and verifying products before checking out.
- Ensuring the sales floor is adequately stocked with products per the floor managers stocking and par level policies.
- Discounting transactions for all approved customers, veterans and senior citizens, per manager approval.
- Determining a customer return as a manufacture defect (returnable) versus a regrettable purchase that cannot be returned.
- Cleaning all display cases, shelf units, brand displays, etc. to insure a clean sales floor.
- Keeping up on cleanliness for the bathroom and employee break room via employee chore lists.
- Assist management with inventory counts.
- Assist in the labeling of newly received products once received from intake.
Position Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Pass a DOJ (Department of Justice) fingerprint live-scan background check.
- Receiving and maintaining (renewed yearly) a valid Cannabis Card from the city.
- Flexible and open work schedule as you may be required to work holidays, nights and weekends if needed. Shifts and hours assigned are subject to change at the discretion of the company and manager approval.
- Occasionally lift and stock heavy cases/objects up to 25 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of standing and assisting customers.
- Ability to climb, crouch, reach, bend and crawl as it pertains to the job duties above.
