Breakfast Host
Position Summary
The Breakfast Host is responsible for creating a welcoming first impression for guests by providing friendly, attentive service upon arrival and departure. This role manages guest seating, reservations, cashiering support, and front-of-house operations while maintaining outlet standards and ensuring a positive dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Seating
- Welcome guests promptly and professionally upon arrival.
- Manage waiting lists and assist guests while they wait according to outlet service standards.
- Escort guests to appropriate tables in a timely manner and provide assistance as needed.
- Arrange booster seats and high chairs for guests when required.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and notify management of any guest concerns or service issues.
- Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return.
Reservations & Communication
- Manage reservations and maintain seating charts.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to guest inquiries.
- Take room service orders in accordance with outlet standards.
- Keep supervisors informed of operational issues, guest concerns, and unusual situations.
Cash Handling & Administrative Support
- Assist servers with cashiering responsibilities.
- Maintain an accurate cash bank and follow all cash handling procedures.
- Ensure proper check control procedures are followed and report discrepancies immediately.
- Maintain accurate currency exchanges and transaction records.
Restaurant Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked host/hostess station.
- Ensure menus are clean and presentable.
- Restock supplies as needed.
- Complete shift change and closing duties.
- Assist with seating arrangements for large parties and special events.
- Support servers and buspersons with light cleaning and side work, including preparing service ware, rollups, and displays.
Additional Responsibilities
- Comply with all hotel policies, procedures, and standards outlined in the employee handbook.
- Maintain flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts, based on business needs.

- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
