Role Description
Founding Head of Operations for a new restaurant concept launching in South Florida.
This is a ground-up, build-from-scratch role, not a replacement hire. The individual will partner directly with the investor to take the concept from vision to execution by opening the first flagship unit and a central commissary, then building the operational foundation for multi-unit growth.
We have the commissary and locations #1 and #2 selected.
Role Summary
The Founding Head of Operations will be fully responsible for:
- Opening the first retail location and commissary
- Designing and implementing all operating systems
- Hiring and onboarding the General Manager and opening team
- Establishing staffing models, training programs, and SOPs
- Managing early P&L performance and stabilizing the business
- Preparing the platform for locations #2 and #3
This person must be hands-on, comfortable in high-velocity environments, and experienced working without a large corporate support structure.
Ideal Background
We are specifically interested in candidates with experience from:
- Fast-casual or coffee-forward brands
- Commissary-supported or centralized production models
- High-volume morning and lunch dayparts
Experience at concepts such as Bolay, Garden Butcher, Starbucks, CAVA, or similar high-throughput operators would be particularly relevant.
We are open to pairing a senior operator with a strong junior operations leader as part of the broader build-out.
