What You'll Be Doing:
The Shipping Picker is responsible for accurately picking, staging, and preparing materials for shipment to customers. This role ensures that all outbound orders are fulfilled correctly, on time, and in accordance with Dexter’s quality and safety standards.
- Pick materials based on pick lists, work orders, or system-generated requirements
- Verify part numbers, quantities, and condition of materials prior to staging
- Stage picked items in designated shipping areas for packing and loading
- Assist with packing, labeling, and preparing shipments as needed
- Ensure all shipments meet customer specifications and company quality standards
- Use warehouse equipment (RF scanners, pallet jacks, forklifts as required)
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions in the system (if applicable)
- Identify and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies immediately
- Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives
- Keep work area clean and organized (5S standards)
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety initiatives
Working Conditions:
- Work Environment: Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly, Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching, Ability to operate material handling equipment safely
What We're Looking For:
- Education Level and Area of Study (Required or Preferred): High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Skills / Knowledge (Required or Preferred): Previous warehouse or shipping experience preferred, Experience with RF scanners or warehouse management systems is a plus, Ability to read and interpret pick lists, part numbers, and labels, Basic computer skills preferred
