Your guidance keeps wheels turning. At Dexter’s Carlisle, PA distribution facility, you’ll be the go-to advisor who helps customers find the right axles, suspension components, brakes, doors, vents, and towing parts—serving industries from commercial trailer and RV to heavy-duty, marine, agriculture, and manufactured housing.
How you create impact
Picture this: a contractor steps to the counter needing parts fast. You check availability and pricing, enter the order without a hitch, recommend a few companion items, and offer technical insight so they leave confident. Later, you’re on the phone confirming truck run orders, chasing backorder updates, and calling customers the same day with delivery dates. Between calls, you track shipments, dive into a warranty question and complete the documentation, and partner with management to resolve a complaint. You also carve out time to support targeted sales efforts—introducing Dexter to new prospects and reconnecting with customers whose purchasing has slowed. And when something else needs doing, you jump in.
Core responsibilities
- Serve customers in person and by phone, providing clear answers and friendly service
- Maintain accurate system data for product pricing and availability
- Precisely enter orders; suggest complementary items; provide technical assistance
- Proactively contact truck run customers to secure timely orders
- Make same-day follow-up calls on backorders and confirm delivery dates
- Participate in sales initiatives focused on new and re-engagement opportunities
- Research complaints; consult management to determine resolution steps
- Process warranty/return requests with all required forms and documentation
- Track shipments and communicate status updates
- Complete other assigned tasks that support the operation
What you bring
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of customer service experience
- Confident with computers and multi-line phone systems
- Customer-first mindset with the drive to learn product details and recommend the right parts
- Sales experience and parts counter sales a plus
