Overview

A growing commercial banking group with strong roots in St. Louis and an expanding Loan Production Office in Kansas City is seeking a seasoned Commercial Banker to join their team. This individual will play a key role in developing and managing commercial and industrial (C&I) as well as commercial real estate (CRE) relationships within the Kansas City market. Position Summary

The Commercial Banker will be responsible for originating, structuring, negotiating, and managing a portfolio of privately held and family-owned business clients, typically with annual revenues between $10 million and $200 million. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with deep experience in C&I and CRE lending, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to generate $15–$20 million in new loan production annually.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage new business relationships with middle-market clients, focusing on manufacturers, distributors, and related industries.
• Originate and close commercial loans typically in the $3–$10 million range (larger deals possible).
• Structure, negotiate, and close complex credit facilities including C&I, owner-occupied real estate, and investor CRE transactions.
• Build and maintain a high-quality loan portfolio through proactive relationship management.
• Partner with internal credit, analysts, and loan coordination teams to underwrite, close, and service loans.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their business needs and providing tailored financial solutions.
• Participate in community and industry events to enhance business development and market visibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial lending with both C&I and CRE expertise.
• Proven track record of originating and managing middle-market loans in the $3–$10 million range.
• Ability to independently source, develop, and close business opportunities.
• Strong credit acumen, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a deal from origination to booking and ongoing portfolio management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field required.
• Existing client relationships or a portable book of business preferred, but not required.
