Hours: Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm (flexible hours required during peak delivery times)
Job Description
The Mutual Fund Financial Reporting Associate (AVP) will manage a team focused on complex financial reporting for mutual funds, ensuring timely and accurate reporting for clients, regulatory compliance, and audits.
Responsibilities
• Lead and guide team members in identifying and addressing complex financial transactions in fund statements.
• Oversee preparation of quarterly, semi-annual, and annual shareholder reports, ensuring SEC filing compliance.
• Coordinate shareholder mailings with transfer agents or distributors.
• Manage Form N-CSR filings with the SEC for applicable funds.
• Serve as the primary contact for client inquiries and ad-hoc financial reporting projects.
• Actively participate in internal and external audits.
• Develop and implement internal procedures and system enhancements.
• Coach and develop team members, including performance reviews and hiring new staff.
• Collaborate with legal counsel and auditors on reporting and examinations.
• Provide Board of Directors and management with timely, accurate fund operation reports.
• Ensure effective client communication and maintain high service standards.
• Monitor and manage service level agreements (SLAs) and deadlines.
• Train team on regulatory changes and financial reporting standards.
• Act as liaison between clients and vendors.
Qualifications
Must-Haves
• 5-10 years in Mutual Funds Administration, Accounting, or Custody (5-7 years in Financial Reporting).
• Strong understanding of SEC, IRS regulations, GAAP, and financial reporting.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with derivatives accounting and reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred).
• CPA (preferred but not required).
