Dexian is hiring a Biologist (Mid) to support internal R&D laboratory and greenhouse/field activities in the St. Louis (Creve Coeur), MO area. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary, technology-driven life sciences environment focused on agricultural/plant biology research.

Location / Work Setup

• On-site — Creve Coeur / St. Louis, MO area (may commute to multiple local worksites)
• Schedule: 40 hours/week
• Contract through: 12/14/2026 (per current assignment end date)

What You’ll Do

• Execute experiments under guidance of a senior scientist (moderate supervision)
• Assist with protocol development, experiment planning, and report generation
• Collect, organize, and help analyze experimental data; maintain clear documentation
• Support plant reproductive tissue research and general plant biology lab activities
• Provide greenhouse support/plant care as needed
• Participate in field work (including occasional work outside the St. Louis area)

Travel / Field Expectations

• Overnight travel up to ~5% (example: 2–4 day stays at locations in IL/IA during summer)
• May drive company fleet vehicles (MVR check required)

Required / Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred in Biology, Botany, Agriculture, or related
• Familiarity with laboratory operations and standard operating procedures
• Strong attention to detail; able to deliver complete, accurate work
• Comfortable working on a high-performing, multidisciplinary team
• Basic technical/computer skills; exposure to biological research is a plus

Work Conditions & Safety

• Work in lab/office/greenhouse/field settings
• Able to lift up to 20 lbs and walk ~0.5 miles/day
• PPE may include lab coat, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, and steel-toe shoes for field work
• May handle low-hazard lab chemicals (e.g., ethanol; media irritants)
