Job title: Senior Engineer – Interior Components & Systems
Location: Arizona or Michigan (Onsite – 100%)
Duration: Long Term Contract
Responsibilities
- Contribute significantly to a world-class Interior Components and Systems engineering team
- Develop industry-leading interior systems focusing on luxury, craftsmanship, performance, safety, ergonomics, and functionality
- Support packaging, engineering, release, and launch of interior systems across the portfolio
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, design, vehicle engineering)
- Prioritize overall vehicle benefit over individual systems
- Work with suppliers to ensure technical excellence and timely delivery
- Develop and use effective tools and innovative approaches for product development
Mandatory Skills to Highlight in Resume
- 4 years of experience in Interior Components and Systems Development
(hard trim, soft trim, instrument panel (IP), door trims, consoles, headliners, etc.) - Strong knowledge of automotive interior components and systems, including:
- Industry benchmarks
- Market trends
- Supplier capabilities
- Proven experience in:
- Creating and defining technical product specifications
- Establishing and managing development timelines
- Supporting accelerated development toward SOP (Start of Production)
- Hands-on experience with CAD tools for:
- 2D/3D concept design
- Packaging layouts
- DFM (Design for Manufacturing) studies
- CATIA V5/V6 preferred
- Vehicle / Product launch experience
- Solid understanding of:
- Plastic part design
- Manufacturing processes (especially injection molding)
- GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Structural performance, ergonomics, and safety requirements
- Experience working with suppliers / vendors to ensure:
- Technical feasibility
- On-time delivery
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams (design, engineering, marketing)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (mandatory)
- Location requirement: Must be based in Arizona or Michigan
Salary : $90 - $95
