Key Responsibilities:
Pricing
- Process transport inquiries from the deugro organization, including budgetary and fixed business requests.
- Obtain and evaluate offers for land, air and sea transport, including LCL, FCL, RoRo, break bulk, LTL, FTL, Consol and oversize transport.
- Conduct final negotiations with subcontractors to secure competitive and reliable pricing.
- Support the department in providing FAK rates.
- Ensure pricing activities contribute to profitable growth, customer satisfaction, and retention.
Purchasing Optimization
- Support subcontractor management across various transport modes.
- Document internal communications and subcontractor details in the TMS to ensure smooth order conversion.
Project Management
- Assist in the development of transport concepts tailored to project needs.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that may impact internal or external stakeholders.
Team Management
- Manage a growing team, identifying skills and positioning the team for success
- Mentor talent and provide expertise to grow individuals within the team
- Set team KPIs and weekly feedback on performance
Skills, knowledge, and expertise:
- Completed apprenticeship as a forwarding agent or equivalent training.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding and pricing.
- Strong knowledge and competence in all modes of transportation, including air, ocean, inland, barging, rail, heavy haul, and rigging.
- Solid understanding of domestic and international geography, including major cities, countries, and ports.
- Ability to select proper routing and vendors based on operational needs and geographic coverage.
- Familiarity with vendor equipment inventories and suitability for specialized operations.
- Awareness of risk factors and basic risk mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with TMS systems and documentation processes, Cargowise experience preferred.
- Organized, hands-on, and solution-oriented approach to work.
- Strong multitasking and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English, Spanish is a plus
- Ability to lead and collaborate within a team.
- Willingness to mentor and support team development.
