Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance with all TSA, DOT and Customs regulations (US and Foreign)
- Preparation and execution of freight negotiations with agents, dispatchers, deugro overseas offices, etc.
- Coordination of transport processes with warehouses, forwarders and suppliers
- Organisation of inland and airfreight shipments
- Organisation of inland and oceanfreight shipments
- Taking over the entire communication with overseas
- Carrying out continuous training and familiarisation of new colleagues or team members
- Checking and approving incoming invoices, creation of billing invoices
- Preparation of outgoing invoices and shipping documents of all kinds
- Tracking and tracing of freight to destination
- Checking of shipping orders
- General dispatch processing incl. customer service
- Informs customer of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer
- Ensuring accurate and thorough documentation of all projects and related matters incl. filing and archiving of all important documents
Skills, knowledge, and expertise:
- Minimum 1-3 years of Freight Forwarding experience required
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED), some higher education preferred; and three to five years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Passing the IATA Dangerous Goods by Air, Excluding Radioactive Cat 3 will be required in order to remain in this position
- Understanding of TACT and IATA rules and regulations
- Experience in working in different time zones and different cultures
- Computer skills – MS Windows 7, MS Office
- Positive attitude and problem solving ability in a fast paced working environment
- Multitasking Skills – Able to handle various assignments in daily coordination with overseas offices
- Creative thinking and open to new ideas
- Excellent communication – Verbal & Written
- Focus – Pay attention to the customer’s needs and commit to exceeding them
