What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Coordinator - On Call/PRN position at Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital?
As our Intake Coordinator, you are the first point of contact for new patients. You will guide them through their first visit. You will make sure their records are correct and complete.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond to telephone and face-to-face inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services.
- Greet new patients and help them feel safe.
- Check patient insurance details and benefits.
- Collect information and fill out intake forms.
- Assume responsibility in maintaining a safe, orderly and therapeutic physical environment for all patients.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians and health professional affiliates, healthcare facilities, and nursing staff.
- Maintain knowledge of legal guidelines pertaining to EMTALA/COBRA and abuse/neglect reporting.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in healthcare or customer service required.
- Great communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good computer skills and attention to detail.
- Current CPR certification.
