The Regional Sales Manager (RM) is responsible for maximizing sales and achieving company business objectives within the defined territory. This role leads a team of Senior National Account Managers (Sr. NAM’S) and National Account Managers (NAMs) ensuring excellence in sales performance, coaching, training, retailer partnership, and operational execution. Reporting to the National Field Sales Director, this position will partner with senior management to develop and implement clearly defined strategies and initiatives to meet and exceed sales targets within both Ulta Beauty and Sephora.
The RM will be able to monitor sales metrics and analyze performance data across the region’s markets and make data-informed decisions to either create or adjust to defined strategies to optimize performance and address opportunities as they arise. The RM will routinely provide senior leadership updates on the status of the business within their assigned territory including promotional activities and competitive insights.
By routinely attending regional and district focused account meetings, RM will build relationships with key account leaders within their retailers and the region and work collaboratively to align goals, resolve issues, drive sell-through, and better serve our joint business ventures.
Management of the NAM team is a primary responsibility. As the team leader, the RM will be responsible for recruitment of qualified NAM’s and will coach and develop them to be impactful leaders within their own defined territory. The RM will utilize weekly 1 on 1 touch bases, weekly sales recaps, monthly team calls, and in person travel at least quarterly to direct report markets to provide consistent mentorship and development. The RM will lead by example in delivering educational sales and event strategies. Additionally, the RM will collaborate with Education and HQ teams to ensure their team is fully equipped with the knowledge, tools and support needed for success.
The Regional Manager will have oversight and be responsible for the field sales team as it relates to expense control, bonus and incentive programs with the focus of maintaining fiscal responsibility and adhering to budget guidelines.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Arts/Associate of Arts degree highly desirable.
A minimum of 4 years of experience managing sales teams across multiple doors in a retail centric environment in the beauty industry.
Proven history of sales goal achievement.
Experience and/or working knowledge of Dermalogica product line highly preferred and/or experience within the Professional skin care industry a plus.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Must live within the State of New York or New Jersey
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required.
Comfortable and effective presenter to large and small audiences
Available for travel – estimate 70 to 80% of the time.
Typical work week is Tuesday – Saturday with one Saturday off per month.
Ability to stand for extended period.
Ability to drive a car for extended periods of time.
The expected base salary for this position is $90K to $110K. The exact base pay rate is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, and budget. Additionally, the successful RM will be participating in the sales incentive bonus program.
