What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Class A Drivers Entry Level position at Dependable Transport?
CDL-A Truck Driver Sanford, FL (Within 100 Miles)
Eastern Regional • No-Touch Freight • Paid Orientation • All Experience Levels Accepted
A Dependable Transports is currently hiring CDL-A truck drivers for an Eastern Regional position based near Sanford, Florida. This opportunity is open to drivers of all experience levels, offering consistent freight, structured routing, and clearly defined home-time expectations.
This role is well suited for experienced drivers seeking predictable regional lanes, as well as new CDL graduates who need a strong foundation and the right support to start their career the right way.
Running Area & Freight
Drivers operate throughout the Eastern United States, covering lanes east of Texas. While this is East Coast regional freight, there is no forced dispatch to New York or New Jersey. Freight is 100% no touch, with approximately 67% drop-and-hook and the remaining percentage live unloads at delivery.
Trailers range from 48 to 53 feet, and drivers typically run 1–2 loads per day, averaging 300–500 miles daily depending on route and freight flow. Routes generally run 12–14 hours per day, so drivers must be comfortable with full, productive shifts.
Home Time
Home time varies by experience level and is communicated clearly during onboarding.
- New drivers are typically out 10–12 days at a time, followed by 2 full days at home. Home days usually fall on Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday, depending on routing.
- Drivers with experience may qualify for weekly home time, with 34–48 hour resets, based on performance, location, and lane availability.
Drivers may take their tractor home during time off if they have an approved and safe parking location, or they may leave equipment at the yard.
Pay & Advancement
Pay is competitive and based on verified experience.
- Experienced drivers earn higher CPM based on work history and miles.
- New drivers transition into CPM pay after completing training.
- Weekly pay with direct deposit available.
- Limited sign-on bonus available for experienced drivers (details provided during hiring).
Entry-Level & New Driver Pathway
Drivers with no prior over-the-road experience are welcome to apply if they have graduated from an accredited CDL program with a minimum of 120 training hours.
New drivers complete 3–4 weeks of paid on-the-road training with a qualified mentor. Training focuses on real-world driving, hours-of-service compliance, trip planning, backing, customer procedures, and full adherence to DOT regulations.
Training pay ranges from $600–$750 per week, paid weekly. Upon successful completion, drivers graduate to solo status, are assigned their own tractor, and move into standard CPM pay.
Orientation
Orientation is held in Florida and lasts three days. Orientation is paid, and A Dependable Transports covers travel and hotel accommodations. This process ensures drivers understand safety standards, operational expectations, and company procedures before operating independently.
Benefits
Drivers are eligible for a full benefits package after 60 days, including medical, dental, and vision coverage. Additional offerings include a 401(k) with company match, referral bonuses, and optional supplemental benefits.
Driver Expectations
Drivers are expected to operate safely, maintain accurate logs, follow DOT guidelines, and communicate professionally with dispatch and customers. This position requires attention to detail, alertness, and the ability to manage time effectively across multiple states.
Whether you’re an experienced CDL-A driver looking for steady Eastern regional freight or a new graduate searching for the right first opportunity, A Dependable Transports provides the structure, support, and consistency to help you succeed.
