Inpatient Operational Pharmacist
We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Operations Pharmacist for a 13-week contract inpatient assignment in Northern Arizona. This role combines clinical pharmacy practice with operational leadership, ensuring safe, efficient medication use while supporting day-to-day inpatient pharmacy workflow.
Start Date: 5/4/2026
Schedule: 7-On/7-Off Wednesday- Tuesday; 8am-7pm week days, 8am-9pm weekends
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care across diverse populations (adult, pediatric, oncology, and more)
- Review and verify medication orders for safety, accuracy, and clinical appropriateness
- Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to optimize medication therapy
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including workflow coordination, staffing support, and task delegation
- Supervise sterile compounding, IV operations, and controlled substance management
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and quality assurance practices
- Support and guide pharmacy technicians and staff to maintain high performance and accuracy
Required Qualifications
- PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited program
- Active, unrestricted Arizona pharmacist license
- BLS and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain)
- At least 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience (3 years preferred for advanced level)
Preferred Experience
- Strong background in hospital pharmacy operations and clinical services
- Experience with sterile compounding (USP /)Proven ability to balance clinical responsibilities with operational oversight
