The Highlights:

As part of the Student Involvement team the Coordinator for Student Organizations develops, coordinates, and implements programs, training, and development to promote learning and growth for over 300 student organizations and the 10,000 students that are part of student organizations. As part of the Student Involvement team, the Coordinator for Student Organizations also serves as the advisor to the DePaul Student Government Association. Additionally, this position plays an integral role on the Student Involvement team, supporting departmental vision and mission while developing and contributing to departmental goals.

What You'll Do:

1. Serves as the lead staff administrator for all programs, trainings, and services of DePaul University approved student organizations to promote development, growth, and success in student involvement. Creates curriculum to provide student leadership development, organization development, and membership retention for 300 student organizations and their leadership. Conducts analysis of involvement data and interprets that data to develop or adjust strategic initiatives to support student organizations. Creates, implements, manages, and assesses/evaluates key student organization events, such as Fall & Winter Involvement Fairs, training opportunities, and organization recognition. Creates, reviews, revises, and implements training and resources for student organization advisors. Provides support to student organization advisors. Provides research and best practices related to student organization leadership development and organization success. 

2. Advises the DePaul Student Government Association. Attends weekly general body and cabinet meetings meetings. Meets one-on-one with leaders providing supervision, support and mentorship. Communicates, interprets and enforces university policies and expectations to cabinet, senators, and general body members. Works as part of the SGA Advising Team to advise and guide student leaders as part of a shared governance model.

3. Supervises one graduate assistant and indirectly supervises student staff. 

4. Collaborates on various Student Involvement, divisional and university committees and projects. 

5. Supervise one graduate assistant and indirectly supervises student staff.

6. Responsible for budgets totaling up to $50,000, as well as contract negotiation and management on behalf of the university.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, College Student Personnel, Counseling or related field, preferred.
• 1-2 years experience in advising college students and advising student organizations and working with diverse populations, preferred. (2 years of graduate experience will equate to one year of professional experience).
• Administrative experience with student organization registration, training, and development, preferred.
• Budget management experience, preferred.
• Experience supervising others, preferred.
• CampusGroups administrative experience, preferred.

• Ability to facilitate leadership development and conversations with student leaders.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; demonstrate initiative.
• Ability to engage collaboratively with departmental team and university areas.
• Ability to effectively communicate with students and colleagues in writing, verbally, and in presentations.
• Ability to develop professional relationships and engage collaboratively with students, faculty, staff and university partners.
• Ability to plan large-scale events with attention to detail and multiple stakeholders.  
• Ability to develop effective training sessions and modules for large groups of student leaders. 

• Work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

The anticipated hiring range for this position is: $47,783 to $57,148/year. 

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
