What are the responsibilities and job description for the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST I position at Department of Water Resources?
As part of a talented, high-performing and diverse team, the Information Technology Specialist I will serve as a Data Protection and Storage Engineer responsible for the operational management of the Department of Water Resources (DWR) and California Natural Resource Agency’s (CNRA) backup/recovery and storage systems. This includes implementing and operating the DWR/CNRA backup/recovery and disaster recovery infrastructures in public, private and hybrid cloud environments as well as supporting all remote sites throughout the DWR/CNRA statewide network. This critical position ensures the availability, reliability, scalability and manageability of DWR and CNRA's backup/recovery and data storage environments that support the information technology infrastructure of DWR and CNRA in alignment with the Department’s programs, strategic goals and business objectives. This position will work closely with other infrastructure teams, engineering architects, business units, outside business partners and vendors to support, administer, and develop enterprise data protection and storage solutions to meet these goals and objectives.
