Job Description
The New York City Department of Probation is seeking to hire two (2) Community Coordinators to serve as Nutrition Kitchen Pantry Workers within the agency's Neighborhood Opportunity Network (NeON). The NeON Nutrition Kitchen Pantry Workers are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and stock levels of the pantry. This includes checking inventory, restocking supplies, and ensuring the pantry area remains sanitary and well-organized at all times. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Keep the pantry area clean, organized, and free of clutter.
- Ensure all pantry items are properly labeled and stored.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the supervisor.
- Refill and restock pantry supplies as needed (dry goods, beverages, condiments, etc.).
- Dispose of expired or spoiled items according to company guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness of shelves, storage bins, refrigerators and freezers.
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist with basic pantry organization tasks (e.g., FIFO rotation, labeling).

Minimum Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. - Basic understanding of cleanliness and food storage standards. - Good attention to detail and organizational skills. - Ability to lift and move light to moderate weights (up to 25 lbs). - Reliability and a positive attitude

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
