This position is located at: 455 Golden Gate Ave, Suite 10428, San Francisco, CA 94102.

The Associate Accounting Analyst is expected to work 40 hours per week in a hybrid office/telework setting, including an air-conditioned, high-rise building with elevator access, a cubicle with natural and artificial lighting; and partial telework from home in an adequate and dedicated office space. Typical work requires prolonged sitting using a computer, calculator, and telephone, and interaction with co-workers. Occasional travel may be required for training or meetings.

The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) was established in 1927. DIR administers and enforces laws governing wages, workplace safety and health, apprenticeship training programs, and medical care and other benefits for injured workers.

  1. Explain how your background/experience will help you perform the duties as listed on the duty statement.
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures to ensure integrity and compliance with control agencies’ reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting, budgeting processes, and procedures with respect to appropriations and authorities to ensure integrity and compliance with control agencies’ reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of the regulations listed in State Administrative Manual (SAM) pertaining to accounting.
  • Knowledge of the manager’s role in the Progressive Discipline Process and ability to take appropriate action. Experience and/or knowledge with discharge of accountability.
  • Ability to interpret and explain fiscal policies, procedures, rules, and/or regulations to employees, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, such as policies, procedures, standards, regulations, technical reports, statutes, and contracts.
  • Ability to extract relevant facts and information from written documents in order to perform project planning, create flowcharts, solve problems, or summarize information, as required, to complete assigned job tasks.

Salary : $75,960 - $95,148
