General Description:
Denver Christian School is seeking a spiritually mature, musically skilled Worship Director to lead and develop its 5th–12th grade extracurricular worship ministry. This role focuses on discipling students through worship leadership, cultivating student-led chapel teams, and shaping a vibrant, Christ-centered worship culture across the school community.
This position is extracurricular only (not classroom-based), and does not require a teaching license or degree. The Worship Director will oversee weekly middle and high school chapel worship teams, monthly elementary vocal teams, and major worship-centered school events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Student Worship Team Leadership (Grades 5–12)
- Lead and disciple 60–70 student worship participants across grades 5–12.
- Develop student vocalists and instrumentalists in musical skill, spiritual maturity, and leadership.
- Teach and arrange 3-part vocal harmonies.
- Rehearse and direct student-led worship teams for:
- High School Chapel (weekly)
- Middle School Chapel (weekly)
- Elementary Chapel (monthly; alternating vocal teams only, no instrumentalists)
- Select biblically sound, age-appropriate worship repertoire aligned with the school’s theological convictions.
- Build sustainable student leadership pipelines that encourage ownership and growth.
- A heart to develop spiritual engagement of our student body during chapels. We would love to see our students also become more engaged during worship.
Chapel & Service Planning
- Plan and organize weekly chapel worship sets in collaboration with the School Chaplain.
- Utilize Planning Center Services for scheduling, set planning, and communication.
- Music direct during services as needed.
- Work collaboratively with the Tech Director to coordinate production needs for chapels and special events (no direct tech oversight required).
Special Events & Spiritual Formation
- Plan, rehearse, and direct the annual Student-Led Night of Worship.
- Plan and lead the annual High School Worship Student Selah Retreat, focusing on spiritual renewal, team development, and worship formation.
- Facilitate and help lead various school worship events, including:
- Monthly staff worship
- National Day of Prayer (optional)
- Annual alumni worship services
- Additional worship-centered school initiatives
Administration & Budget
- Maintain and steward the worship ministry budget responsibly.
- Manage worship resources, subscriptions (e.g., MultiTracks), and music licensing as applicable.
- Coordinate calendars and rehearsal schedules in alignment with the Performing Arts department.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of worship leading experience.
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Lead vocally with confidence and clarity.
- Play one or more instruments proficiently (e.g., piano, guitar, or other common worship instruments).
- Teach and arrange 3-part vocal harmony.
- Proficient knowledge of Planning Center Services.

- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience using MultiTracks in live worship settings.

- Familiarity with live worship production environments.
