JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced and organized Dental Assistant to
join our public health dental team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about serving the community and providing quality patient care in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. The ideal candidate is highly dependable and comfortable supporting both clinical and administrative duties.
EXPECTATIONS
Provide excellent support to both providers and patients by ensuring smooth daily clinical flow, maintaining organization, and assisting across a variety of procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years of dental assisting experience, in Public health preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish required
- X-ray certification required
- Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new systems and workflows
- Warm, empathetic, and patient-centered communication style
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and patient flow skills
- Flexible, dependable, and able to stay calm in a fast-paced environment
- Team-player mentality with willingness to be fully cross-trained across clinical and front office responsibilities
- Ability to travel between dental clinic locations
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist providers with preventative, hygiene, restorative, extraction, and minimal endodontic procedures, including support with periodontal screening and recording
- Support digital workflows including scanning, printing, and milling when needed
- Take X-rays, prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain stocked, organized operatories
- Support patient scheduling, phones, check-in/check-out, insurance verification, and front desk responsibilities as needed
- Help maintain efficient patient flow, provide patient education, and contribute to a fully cross-trained, and all-hands-on-deck team culture
