Job Description – Assisting Instructor (NCO) JROTC Program
Reports to: Principal/CTE Director/Senior Instructor (SAI)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Job Goal: To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, responsible members of society.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required.
- Must be a minimum military classification of E6, up to an E9
- Must have associates degree or complete associates degree within the first five (5) years of employment.
- Must provide prequalification letter from Headquarters stating they are eligible for JROTC employment.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Enroll students in the JROTC program and support school officials conducting these programs.
- Develop, implement and coordinate a four-year program of instruction based on the JROTC curriculum, and Master Training Schedule published by the Director of Army Instruction.
- Participates in JROTC summer camp, as required.
- Engage in professional growth and demonstrate professional ethics and leadership.
- Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policies, and state and federal rules and regulations.
- Adheres to U.S. Army policies and regulations pertaining to operation of a JROTC program as outlined by U.S. Army Cadet Command, Second ROTC Region, and Fifth Brigade.
- Perform other duties as assigned by administrators.
Physical requirements:
Employee must occasionally lift, push, pull, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Terms of employment:
Ten-month employee, in accordance with the Board approved salary schedule. Work schedule includes a 40-hour work week, with scheduled days and times up to the supervisor.
