Position Summary Information
Responsibilities
The Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach is responsible for the leadership and oversight of the Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs and all related operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coaching; recruiting and retaining qualified student-athletes; planning and conducting practices and competitions; scheduling contests; organizing and managing team travel; supervising assistant coaches and graduate assistants; managing program budgets; fundraising and alumni engagement; monitoring student-athlete academic progress; organizing camps and clinics; fostering positive relationships with prospective student-athletes, alumni, campus constituents, and the surrounding community; ensuring compliance with NCAA, Gulf South Conference, and University rules and regulations; and performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. The successful candidate must possess strong communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills and demonstrate a commitment to the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience is preferred. The successful candidate should demonstrate knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, effective recruiting and coaching strategies, strong organizational and communication skills, budget management experience, and the ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, alumni, and the community.
Salary
Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university’s resources.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to successfully pass all required background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree.
Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division II rules and regulations.
Experience with recruiting, budget management, fundraising, and camp administration.
CPR, AED, and First Aid certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
