Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager / Operations Manager to support both the financial and operational performance of a growing organization. This role serves as the primary accounting and operations lead, responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, overseeing project-related financial activities, and partnering with leadership and external financial advisors to improve processes and support business growth.
This is a high-impact position requiring a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who can assess current processes, identify efficiencies, and implement improvements while maintaining ownership of daily accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and assist with month-end close.
- Prepare financial reports and provide supporting documentation to leadership and external financial partners.
- Collaborate regularly with external accounting advisors on financial reporting and performance insights.
- Ensure accuracy, organization, and compliance in all financial records.
Operations & Project Management
- Support day-to-day business operations and partner with leadership on priorities.
- Oversee project administration, including budget tracking, financial monitoring, and timeline coordination.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure accurate project costing, invoicing, and reporting.
- Evaluate existing systems and workflows; recommend and implement improvements for efficiency and scalability.
- Assist with workflow coordination, scheduling, and operational planning.
- Identify and implement process improvements across accounting and operations.
- Provide insights and recommendations to leadership to support growth and decision-making.
Qualifications
- 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and operations.
- Industry experience in construction or a project-based environment required.
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, reconciliations, and project accounting.
- Experience operating independently in a small or lean business environment.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Experience collaborating with external accountants or financial advisors.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience improving systems, workflows, and operational processes is highly desirable.
