Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Telecommunications Program Manager to lead the delivery of critical network communications initiatives supporting the AMI 2.0 program. This role is responsible for managing large-scale wireless, cellular, mesh, and telecom infrastructure workstreams while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, business objectives, and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience delivering telecommunications, wireless networking, smart grid, or utility infrastructure programs and has a proven track record leading complex cross-functional initiatives involving engineering, IT, vendors, field operations, and executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end delivery of telecommunications and wireless network workstreams supporting AMI 2.0 program releases
• Manage planning, design, build, testing, deployment, and operational readiness activities for cellular, mesh, carrier, and cloud communication solutions
• Drive alignment between telecommunications solutions and enterprise platforms including MDMS, HES, Cloud, SAP, and ADMS environments
• Facilitate technical evaluations, architecture reviews, vendor assessments, and RFI/RFP processes
• Develop and present data-driven recommendations regarding network technologies, deployment approaches, and vendor selection
• Lead development, validation, and traceability of wireless and carrier communication requirements across project lifecycles
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, and financial performance across multiple workstreams
• Coordinate closely with engineering, cybersecurity, field deployment, operations, PMO, and IT teams
• Oversee vendor performance, contract alignment, and delivery accountability for telecommunications providers
• Facilitate governance meetings, executive reviews, escalation forums, and stakeholder communications
What You'll Be Working On

• Network architecture integration across MDMS, HES, SAP, ADMS, and cloud platforms
• Vendor selection, technology evaluations, and deployment strategies
• Utility communication infrastructure supporting large-scale field deployments
• Cross-functional program delivery involving engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and IT teams
Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Business, or related field
• 10 years of project or program management experience supporting telecommunications, wireless networking, infrastructure, or technology delivery initiatives
• Strong knowledge of telecom and network technologies including MESH, FAN, Cellular, WAN/backhaul, and IoT communications
• Experience leading large-scale programs involving multiple vendors, system integrators, and cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate complex technical discussions, architecture reviews, and executive decision-making
• Strong risk, issue, schedule, scope, and financial management capabilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with technical and executive audiences
• Experience managing large multi-workstream enterprise initiatives
• Stable work history within large enterprise organizations
• 3 years of Big 4 consulting experience preferred
Desired Skills
• Experience with AMI 1.0 and/or AMI 2.0 programs
• Experience supporting smart grid, utility telecommunications, network management, or device management systems
• 3GPP wireless experience and familiarity with Tier 1 wireless carrier environments
• Experience with SIM management and cellular communications technologies
• Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements for wireless telecom and grid communications
• Experience with vendor evaluations, contract negotiations, and strategic sourcing activities
• Experience creating executive-level decision decks, business cases, and strategy presentations
