Position Summary
We are seeking a Palantir Foundry Software Engineer to support Grid Resiliency applications and enterprise data platform initiatives within a large utility environment. This role will focus on application development, data engineering, pipeline optimization, ontology management, platform architecture, and operational support for mission-critical Palantir Foundry solutions.
The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with deep data platform experience, Palantir Foundry expertise, and the ability to design, build, maintain, and optimize scalable applications, pipelines, and analytics solutions in complex enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Provide operational support, development, and enhancements for Grid Resiliency applications built within Palantir Foundry
β’ Develop high-quality, modular, reusable software components using Foundry Code Repositories and Function Repositories
β’ Implement reusable transform logic, shared libraries, and scalable application components
β’ Manage version control, branching strategies, code reviews, and software development best practices
β’ Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL pipelines, data workflows, and data transformation processes
β’ Support Palantir Foundry Pipeline Builder, DAG execution architecture, and data integration frameworks
β’ Maintain and govern Foundry Ontology models including access controls, change processes, and governance standards
β’ Provide Foundry architecture guidance including ontology design, pipeline architecture, integration patterns, and deployment lifecycle management
β’ Develop and maintain Foundry Workshop applications, dashboards, Quiver dashboards, automations, and business-facing tools
β’ Configure and integrate SaaS and cloud-based PaaS solutions supporting enterprise applications
β’ Support logical data layers, databases, data marts, warehouses, middleware, analytics tools, and BI platforms
β’ Collaborate with infrastructure providers, cloud teams, vendors, and enterprise support teams
β’ Perform application maintenance, enhancements, defect resolution, troubleshooting, and production support
β’ Conduct root cause analysis and implement improvements following incidents
β’ Optimize Foundry compute usage, pipeline performance, storage utilization, and workload efficiency
β’ Support Agile/DevOps delivery methods across application planning, delivery, and operations

Required Skills & Experience
β’ Strong software engineering experience with full-stack development fundamentals
β’ Experience designing, building, and maintaining enterprise applications
β’ Strong experience with data platforms, data pipelines, and distributed processing environments
β’ Proficiency with Python and TypeScript development
β’ Understanding of ETL processes, pipeline architecture, and data engineering concepts
β’ Experience with Palantir Foundry platform development and administration
β’ Ability to own technical solutions independently from design through delivery
β’ Experience performing root cause analysis and driving post-incident improvements
β’ Experience supporting production applications and participating in on-call rotations
β’ Front-end application design experience (Palantir Foundry Workshop preferred)
β’ Ability to make architectural decisions and evaluate technical tradeoffs
β’ Strong communication skills supporting business and technical stakeholders
β’ Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, high-pressure production environments
Desired Skills
β’ Experience in data engineering or related technical roles
β’ Advanced Python experience including PySpark, Polars, or similar frameworks
β’ Experience with Foundry Pipeline Builder, Code Repositories, Data Connections, and Function Repositories
β’ Strong understanding of Ontology design and object-based data modeling
β’ Experience with data lineage, dependency analysis, and impact assessments
β’ Ability to troubleshoot pipeline failures and optimize performance
β’ Experience translating business requirements into scalable pipeline implementations
β’ Experience with utility, grid resiliency, or operational technology environments
β’ Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise platforms
β’ 3 years of Big 4 consulting experience preferred
