This is a full-time temporary support staff position within the Admissions Office.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Dual Enrollment Completion Coach will work under the direction of the dual enrollment office to focus on supporting dual enrolled students helping them navigate the academic and social aspects of college coursework while still in high school to foster a strong college-going culture to strengthen dual enrollment and mentoring programs that address barriers to higher education. Through targeted coaching, mentoring, and outreach at select high schools and school districts this position helps students successfully transition from dual enrollment to postsecondary education after high school graduation. Prioritizing tailored interventions, based on data, to provide foundational support they need to be successful. Recognizing that dual-enrolled and first-time students often face challenges in credit completion and retention, Emphasizing the importance of personalized support and proactively connect students with resources tailored to their needs.

The completion coach position is responsible for assisting dual enrolled and early middle college students with tailored course planning and goal setting to produce a successful college experience towards completion of a certificate or degree. They will identify and monitor the academic progress of all students at-risk of failing, to ensure they are on the path to academic success. The completion coach will also proactively maintain records for each student, as well as employ effective academic engagement techniques and college-career preparedness strategies to ensure acceptable retention and graduation rates. They will work under the guidance of the dual enrollment office to provide resources and interventions that promote student achievement.

This role involves enhancing the onboarding process to build a strong sense of belonging from the start providing guidance on academic planning, connecting students with college resources, preparedness, academic standing, and navigation of College policies, procedures, and fostering a successful transition to post-secondary education providing holistic, and personalized, one on one support to students, and offer a seamless transition to academic advising providing mentorship, goal setting, progress monitoring, and degree audit, program completion. As a Completion Coach you will help dual enrolled students navigate obstacles that might impede their success, connect them to campus services and resources, work with them to develop goals and be their accountability partner, and provide academic pro-tips for maximizing their college experience at Delta College, reinforcing our mission to empower a diverse and inclusive community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
  • Duties:
    • Meet with students individually or in small groups to discuss their academic goals and progress.
    • Helping students develop personalized educational development plans.
    • Facilitating workshops on topics such as study skills, time management, and college readiness.
    • Monitoring student performance and providing feedback and support as needed.
    • Helping students access and utilize online learning platforms and other digital resources.
    • Coordinating with college and high school personnel to ensure smooth communication and collaboration.
    • Assisting with the registration process for dual enrollment courses.
    • Providing information about financial aid and scholarship opportunities after high school graduation.
    • Tracking student data and reporting on outcomes.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Provide one-on-one advisement and mentoring to dual-enrolled students.
    • Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of student progress records.
    • Work closely with dual enrollment office which provides direction and framework on proper advisement, mentoring, and supports for dual enrolled students.
    • Maintain regular communication with students and the dual enrollment office regarding student progress and program updates.
    • Communicate with students about course standing and directing them to appropriate support.
    • Support high school-to-college transition by identifying and addressing barriers to enrollment, persistence, and completion.
    • Work as part of a team under the dual enrollment office to collaborate with high school staff and student services teams to ensure coordinated, student-centered support.
    • Contribute to tracking student success metrics such as credit accumulation, advising participation, and retention.
    • Advocate for initiatives like early alert systems, peer mentoring, and mandatory advising.
    • Use data to continuously improve student support strategies and recommend process enhancements.



Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent knowledge and skills.
  • 1 to 3 years of position-related experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish trust with students.
  • Recent knowledge of college admissions, academic advising, and course panning-registration processes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in data tracking and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Zoom.
  • Capability to manage sensitive, confidential materials with total discretion.
  • Familiarity with Delta College and its community.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and student success.

Additional Experiences Considered
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, counseling, social work).
  • Familiarity with career development resources and strategies.
  • Experience in advising, coaching, or mentoring students.
  • Experience with data tracking and program evaluation.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, educational platforms, and advising tools.
  • Familiarity with HIPPA/FERPA and 504 plans.
