Assistant Warehouse Manager
We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Warehouse Manager to support daily warehouse operations in a high-volume pick and pack environment. This role oversees up to ten warehouse associates and ensures efficient, accurate, and timely fulfillment of customer orders. The ideal candidate is a strong floor leader who is comfortable balancing people management with active participation in receiving, inventory, and shipping processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations across pick and pack, receiving, inventory control, and outbound shipping.
- Supervise, coach, and support up to 10 warehouse associates to ensure productivity, accuracy, and compliance with SOPs.
- Work hands-on on the warehouse floor to monitor activity, resolve issues, and keep order fulfillment running smoothly.
- Ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped with accuracy and speed, meeting customer expectations and company KPIs.
- Coordinate inbound receiving activities, including unloading, checking, labeling, and put-away.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels by supporting cycle counts, investigating variances, and ensuring proper storage practices.
- Enforce safety procedures, conduct walk-throughs, and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Assist with workforce planning, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Communicate cross-functionally with management, customer service, and logistics teams to address issues and keep operations aligned.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline warehouse workflows.
Qualifications
- 3 years of warehouse experience, preferably in a pick and pack or fulfillment environment.
- 1β2 years of supervisory or lead experience overseeing warehouse staff.
- Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory control.
- Comfortable leading from the floor and working hands-on as needed.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain high accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with WMS systems, RF scanners, and basic Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet throughout the shift.
- High school diploma or GED required; additional training or certifications (OSHA, forklift, etc.) a plus.
