Our client in Warwick, RI is seeking a Telecom Wiring Travel Technician to provide front-line support for voice, network, and communication systems. This role involves troubleshooting, documenting incidents, and assisting with telecommunications wiring, including installation, tracing, and troubleshooting voice and data cabling.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming calls, tickets, and service requests related to telecommunications issues such as desk phones, softphones, headsets, and mobile endpoints.
- Troubleshoot voicemail, call forwarding, hunt groups, and auto-attendant issues, providing initial guidance and resolution steps.
- Create, classify, and update incidents within the ticketing system accurately, escalating complex cases to Tier 2/Tier 3 telecom and network teams.
- Communicate planned maintenance, outages, and service updates to users following predefined scripts.
- Assist with password resets, user profile management, and device provisioning when necessary.
- Monitor call queues, meet service-level targets, and maintain high customer service standards.
- Document recurring issues and contribute to knowledge base updates.
- Collaborate with telecom engineers, network operations, and support managers to optimize call flows and reduce incident recurrence.
- Associate’s Degree or certificate equivalent.
- Experience with telecommunications wiring, including installing, tracing, and troubleshooting voice and data cabling.
- Strong customer-service mindset with clear verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of telecommunications concepts such as call routing, voicemail, softphone setup, and PBX basics.
- Ability to follow scripts, troubleshooting guides, and procedural checklists.
- Proficiency working with ticketing platforms like ServiceNow or Zendesk.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional under pressure.
- Skilled at multitasking in a high-volume call-center environment.
- Prior call-center or helpdesk support experience (1–3 years).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams Phone, Cisco, Fortinet, or other enterprise voice systems.
- Experience supporting public-sector or state technology environments.
- Basic networking knowledge, including LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
