In this role, you’ll bridge clinical staff and information technology teams to ensure EHR functionality supports clinical workflows, regulatory requirements, and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and ongoing optimization of the hospital’s electronic health record (EHR) across multiple clinical domains.
- Analyzes clinical and operational workflows and translates end-user needs into system functionality, configuration requirements, and process improvements.
- Designs, builds, and maintains clinical documentation tools, including templates, order sets, and clinical decision support, aligned with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Leads system testing activities, including unit testing, user acceptance testing, go-live readiness, and post-implementation optimization.
- Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality, and patient care outcomes through workflow redesign and EHR system optimization.
- Provides training and guidance to clinical staff to promote EHR adoption and effective use of the system.
- Collaborates with clinical and technical stakeholders to support EHR functionality that aligns with clinical workflows and regulatory requirements.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a clinical discipline, Computer Science, Informatics, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment through direct clinical practice or clinical informatics, health IT, or clinical systems support roles.
- Experience working with EHR platforms such as WellSky, Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or other enterprise healthcare systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
- Direct clinical practice experience (e.g., nursing, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology).
- Certification or advanced education in health or clinical informatics.
