What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Abatement Technician position at Delectus, LLC?
The Abatement Technician is responsible for performing asbestos abatement and industrial maintenance projects in full compliance with company policies, established health and safety procedures, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Job Responsibilities
Perform asbestos abatement fieldwork under direct or indirect supervision.
Complete all required documentation accurately, including timesheets, daily reports, driver’s logs, and safety meeting forms.
Follow detailed project scopes to ensure compliance with contracts, schedules, and company policies.
Maintain strict adherence to company, client, and regulatory safety standards during all work activities.
Work in confined or restricted areas, requiring squatting, crawling, or extended periods of physical activity.
Safely operate and inspect vehicles in accordance with license requirements.
Travel out of town for extended projects (two weeks or more) as needed.
Perform year-round outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
Safely execute duties in challenging environments, including exposure to heat, cold, heights, hazardous materials, loud noise, heavy equipment, and long hours.
Meet the physical requirements of the role, including prolonged standing, walking, crouching, manual tasks, and lifting 50 pounds.
Remain clean-shaven at all times to ensure proper respirator fit and seal.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent reading, writing, and reasoning skills) required.
2–3 years of experience in abatement projects.
Additional experience in related fields such as emergency response, manual labor, general construction, or industrial cleaning is preferred.
Must hold a valid 32-hour Abatement Worker’s Certification.
Valid driver’s license required.
TWIC card preferred.
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER, Confined Space Entry, and Lead Awareness certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
Must successfully complete pre-employment background and substance screenings, including employment verification, criminal history, and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks, with ongoing verifications required to meet company policy standards.
