What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator-National Construction position at Delaware Valley Paving?
Delaware Valley Paving is a national parking lot construction and maintenance company serving commercial and industrial clients across the country. Currently we are looking for an Estimator to help manage our caseload of business development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret plans at all stages of development, from schematic and budgetary designs to fully detailed 100% construction documents.
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Evaluate and qualify vendors and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project requirements and quality standards.
- Analyze and compile data affecting costs, including labor rates, materials, equipment, and location factors, to produce precise and timely estimates.
- Negotiate contracts and manage project-related portals and documentation.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, maintaining high standards of organization and time management.
- Review project scope, specifications, and potential risk factors to determine bid feasibility.
- Oversee special assignments and provide support for strategic initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Civil Engineering, or Project Management (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of construction industry experience with proven project management capability.
- Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex project documents and specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and team members.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and delivering effective, persuasive project proposals and presentations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while meeting deadlines.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
- This is a full time, in office position.
