The opportunity
Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a full-time General Plant HVAC Technician to join our team at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida. As a General Plant HVAC Technician, you will perform installations, maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment. Special knowledge and capabilities required for installations, maintenance, and repairs facility heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and equipment. General knowledge of multiple disciplines including building construction, carpentry, roofing, drywall, carpeting/tiling, masonry, painting, gas appliances, electrical and plumbing is required. Position may require working nights, weekends and holidays.

$26.19 – $43.67 / hour

What will you do?
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions and complete any required repairs.
- Perform installation, preventive, and repair maintenance on HVAC systems, food storage refrigeration, and freezer systems.
- Aid with construction, painting, and carpentry operations to build or repair facilities.
- Assist in performance of mechanical and structural preventive maintenance operations.
- Label, transport, and dispose of refrigerant cylinders and maintain required records.
- Drive company vehicles around the property.
More about you
- You must be at least 21 years old to apply.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience with completion of trade school or a certified apprenticeship program.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required.
- Universal Refrigeration Certification required.
- Experience with refrigeration units, chiller systems, and electrical field equipment.
- Working knowledge of low-voltage controls and electronics.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and associated software.
Physical requirements
- Ability to work on ladders, scaffolds, or high lift.
- Ability to interpret various codes and blueprints.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, and kneeling.
