Job Description Summary
This position will be assigned to work in either Aransas, Kleberg, Kenedy, or San Patricio County.
Responsible for working with individual adult learners face to face and in virtual learning environments. Provide the teaching of the high school equivalency (GED) completion in compliance with Texas Adult Education and Literacy Content standards in adult basic education instruction while integrating jobs skills into lesson delivery. Assist adult learners meet thier educational, personal , and professional goals while building strong community in the classroom.
Conduct student orientation and testing independently, and monitor student progress in line with grant requirements. Ensure weekly submission of student documents. Requires occasional in-person training at Del Mar College Heritage Campus.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Education or other related field.
One (1) year teaching experience in reading, writing, mathematics, and English language acquisition.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Must be computer proficient. Must be compassionate with strong interpersonal skills including communication. Ability to facility group learning and establish and maintain constructive relationships in the classroom. Ability to plan course instruction based on approved syllabus/course outline to ensure course content and objectives are met.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years teaching experience in reading, writing, and mathematics.
