Software System Tester

DEKA Research & Development, located in Manchester, NH, is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Software System Tester to join a software team working on medical devices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for comprehensive testing of applications and system components, ensuring quality through rigorous test planning, execution, and defect management. How you will make an impact:

• Develop comprehensive user expertise with assigned applications and system components
• Perform thorough functional, regression, and integration testing of Android-based systems
• Validate application behavior across various use cases and scenarios
• Create detailed System Test Procedures (STPs) based on project requirements and specifications
• Establish full requirements traceability by linking STPs to IBM DOORS
• Maintain and update test documentation to reflect current system functionality
• Execute System Test Procedures according to established test schedules
• Test developer software changes and modifications thoroughly
• Document comprehensive testing notes for recordkeeping
• Verify fixes and validate that changes meet acceptance criteria
• Identify, document, and create Software Change Requests for discovered defects
• Provide detailed reproduction steps, logs, and supporting evidence
• Track defects through resolution and verify fixes
• Assist in running automated test suites
• Aggregate, analyze, and report automated test results
• Collaborate across engineering and QA disciplines to improve test coverage
  
  

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance
• Experience with requirements management tools, preferably IBM DOORS
• Experience with defect tracking and ALM tools, preferably Helix ALM
• Proficiency in creating test plans, test cases, and test procedures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

• Experience with Android system-level testing and debugging
• Familiarity with ADB (Android Debug Bridge) and other Android testing tools
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
• Requirements traceability (IBM DOORS)
• Defect/change management (Helix ALM)
• Test case management and execution
• Log analysis and debugging
• Automated testing tools and frameworks
