SUMMARY
Perform electrical and mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance to equipment in a production environment including but not limited to: overhead hoists, bridges, CNC, lathes
Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety regulations
- Perform equipment maintenance and repairs while minimizing machine downtime
- Troubleshoot equipment failures in a methodical and timely manner
- Diagnose and repair overhead hoist
- Install 110/220/480V
- Installation, tear down, and replacement of equipment
- Adhere to proper Lock Out Tag Out protocol as well as changing gearing in CNC machines
- Troubleshoot and modify Fanuc PLCs
- Read and interpret drawings, mechanical drawings and have basic understanding of process concepts, control systems, and instrumentation equipment
- Maintain the appropriate documentation to support production
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electronic and electrical components of equipment and machinery
- Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and repairs and replaces gauges, pressure regulators, valves and related parts and equipment
- Be capable of welding
- Process all required paperwork
Requirements:
- Experience with overhead hoist maintenance and troubleshooting
- Experience with CNC machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong electrical skills, including DC and single- and 3-phase AC installation and troubleshooting
- Have a valid Driver’s License
- Must be detail oriented
- Must be a self-starter
- Must have good attendance
- Must be able to work overtime
- Must work well with others
QUALIFICATIONS Forklift certification required. Valid Indiana Driver's license required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma, or GED, One year certificate from college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Forklift operator's license, current valid driver's license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
