What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3rd shift Material Handler position at Deister Machine Company?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Must wear safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection at all times. Must follow all safe work practices.
- Operates industrial fork truck, or electric hoist safely, to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Inspects daily, for the safe condition of industrial fork truck, and notifies supervisor of all discrepancies or problems.
- Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hoist and forklift.
- Loads materials from, or onto vehicles for Company heavy truck operator.
- Loads and unloads materials from Vendor vehicles.
- Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
- Conveys scrap materials from work areas to outside dumpsters or bins.
- Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.
- Counts, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
- Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, crates, or other containers.
- Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
