Job Overview
Immigration firm in New Haven is seeking an associates attorney. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year experience in handling immigration cases, including family petitions, Special Immigrant Juvenile Petitions, asylums, and Removal hearings and appeals. Must be licensed to practice in the State of Connecticut, and must be able to work independently. The job is ful time and in person.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analysis on immigration law cases using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
- Draft legal documents, including petitions and applications and briefs, ensuring compliance with immigration regulations.
- Provide legal advice to clients regarding immigration processes and options.
- Assist in preparing clients for interviews and hearings with the USCIS and the Immigration Court.
- Appear at Immigration Court hearings and at USCIS interviews
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategies for complex immigration matters.
