Overview:
We are seeking an entry-level Support Technician to support end users in a fast-paced IT environment. This role is ideal for entry level candidates or early-career professionals looking to build hands-on experience in desktop support, troubleshooting, and IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and install software on desktops and laptops
- Perform new computer setups, upgrades, and software deployments
- Maintain and troubleshoot desktop hardware and software
- Provide Tier 2 support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
- Support remote and mobile users with technical issues
- Troubleshoot issues using established scripts and procedures
- Escalate complex technical issues to Tier 3 support
- Document problems, resolutions, and system updates
- Assist with end-user training as needed
- Deliver strong customer service and user support
- Participate in testing and evaluation of new desktop technologies
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of IT experience (internships acceptable)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Equivalent work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis
- Experience with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Basic knowledge of desktop hardware and troubleshooting
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience providing Tier 2 desktop support
- Experience troubleshooting PCs, printers, and peripherals
- Ability to support users over the phone or remotely
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking
- Experience with desktop imaging tools
- Familiarity with VPN or VoIP support
- Experience diagnosing and repairing hardware (RAM, hard drives, etc.)
