Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator to manage our daily shipping and receiving operations. This role is essential to ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of goods to our customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics, excellent communication skills, and a strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule outgoing shipments and incoming deliveries
- Prepare shipping documents including bills of lading, packing lists, and invoices
- Work with carriers and freight forwarders to ensure on-time delivery
- Track shipments and resolve any issues related to delays or damages
- Maintain accurate shipping and inventory records
- Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations
- Communicate with internal departments and external partners to streamline operations
- Monitor shipping costs and identify opportunities for cost savings
- Ability to route and waive orders
- Assist with invoicing orders as necessary
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse coordination
- Familiarity with shipping software (e.g., FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip, ERP systems)
- Proficient use of MS Office Applications; especially Excel and V-lookups
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks)
- Knowledge of import/export procedures is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
Schedule
- Full-time: Monday-Friday: 7:00am-3:30p
Work Environment
- Warehouse setting with frequent forklift and equipment traffic
- Moderate to fast-paced environment requiring accuracy and efficiency
Preferred Skills
- Forklift or powered industrial truck certification
- Experience with LTL and freight coordination
- Knowledge of international shipping documentation (if applicable)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 per year
