What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water Mitigation Technician position at DEC Fire & Water Restoration?
DEC is a family-owned, high volume, restoration company specializing in the insurance related cleanup of water and mold damage to residential and commercial properties. We're a 24/7 emergency response business, so we have to be available when the call comes in. We have a reputation of providing quality work with attention to customer service, and you must do the same. You will never have to worry about selling new jobs or bringing in new business. This is strictly an operations position.
We are looking for someone with a great attitude and the ability to work well others in high-demand situations. IICRC credentials with a background in this industry will be a definite PLUS, but not required.
We currently have openings for Techs that can drive in our North Alabama office, so we will run a MVR before we interview you. Our insurance company makes the decision of who can drive for us, so... as a real-world example, if you have 5 speeding tickets and 3 wrecks in the last 18 months, no need applying.
Some of the minimum requirements for this position include:
- Valid driver's license - Must pass MVR background by insurance company.
- Pass a criminal background check
- Pass a drug screen
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Must be able to wear PPE when required (Tyvek suit, mask, gloves, etc...)
- Must be willing to work in a crawlspace or attic (wherever the job takes us)
- Perform on-site production services including water extraction and mold cleanup
- Must have some tablet/phone skills (email, texting, pictures, etc...)
- Document and photograph the jobs as work progresses
- Must be willing to work overtime (nights and weekends on occasion)
- Make the customer happy'
- Insurance will be available after 90 day probationary period.
