Job Summary
DebtBlue is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Negotiation Specialist to build and maintain professional relationships with creditors, collection agencies, creditor law firms, and debt buyers. In this role, you will negotiate settlements on behalf of our clients and play a critical role in helping them resolve their debts and move forward.
Full time on-site in Richardson, TX Monday - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm (occasional Saturdays and overtime based on department needs)

Job Summary
DebtBlue is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Negotiation Specialist to build and maintain professional relationships with creditors, collection agencies, creditor law firms, and debt buyers. In this role, you will negotiate settlements on behalf of our clients and play a critical role in helping them resolve their debts and move forward.

Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate reduced settlements with creditors, collection agencies, and attorney offices for summons and/or judgment accounts
- Build and maintain professional rapport with external partners
- Manage relationships between legal plan vendors and internal teams
- Calculate acceptable settlement percentages in accordance with departmental guidelines
- Manage a queue of accounts to consistently meet monthly targets and departmental budgets
- Review client accounts to determine funds required for settlement and company fees within required timelines
- Gather, submit, and track documentation required for settlement approval and payment
- Maintain detailed settlement tracking spreadsheets, including payments and correspondence
- Respond promptly to time-sensitive communications from outside counsel
- Ensure strict client confidentiality and compliance with all federal and state regulations
- Perform other duties as needed to support department operations
- 3 years of experience in customer service, collections, or negotiation (required)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High level of initiative with the ability to meet or exceed monthly goals
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and ability to apply policies and procedures consistently
- Solid math skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint) and client service software
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus

Minimum of 65 accounts reviewed daily
- 2.5 hours of talk time daily (with either creditors or clients)
- 60 accounts settled per month
- Average two-month ramp-up period
- Month 1: Approximately 20?30 settlements
- Month 2: Approximately 50?60 settlements
