Social Media Coordinator

ABOUT THIS POSITION:

Dear Media is looking for a Social Media Coordinator to join our Content team in the New York office. The ideal candidate is a social-first, detail-oriented team player who loves being in the mix – whether that's helping shoot content, light editing of video content, or jumping in wherever the team needs support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support Content Manager in day-to-day coverage of Dear Media’s social channels, including publishing posts, writing captions, light video editing for original brand series, and in-office content capture.
• Support content ideation and design – pitch engaging content ideas and work with design and production to make them happen
• Learn and produce Dear Media’s show from long form content into engaging, social-first, short form content, while maintaining Dear Media's tone and voice.
• Support content shoots — helping with setup and filming with talent in New York studio.
• Support community management, including monitoring comments and DMs.
• Stay current on social trends, competitive accounts and platform updates, and share relevant findings with the team.
• Assist with general team needs and admin as they arise.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• 1-2 years hands-on working experience on social accounts.
• A knowledge for what works across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook & LinkedIn or new emerging social channels.
• Experience working in social metrics platforms and tools (Dash Social, Iconosquare, etc).
• Experience working within a social media calendar (Google Sheet, Asana, Dash Social).
• Comfortable shooting iPhone-style content and making short-form vertical videos.
• Professional demeanor around high-profile talent.
• An understanding of trends and what makes compelling content on social media.
• Comfortable pitching new creative and growth ideas to the team.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred.
• Knowledge in Graphic Design (Photoshop or Canva).
