About the Company
DealTeam is working with a long-established specialty sheet metal fabricator based in Southern California that designs, fabricates, and installs pneumatic scrap conveying, dust collection, pollution control, and industrial ventilation systems.
The business has been operating for decades, maintains a large and loyal active customer base.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a General Manager to lead the business day to day under a new ownership group. This person will inherit a skilled shop team, a strong customer base, and a profitable operation. The job is to build on what is already working, professionalize the business, and drive measured growth. Ownership will be actively involved and collaborative.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage Project management and execution from kickoff through final installation across multiple active jobs
- Own estimating, job costing, and margin performance
- Own day-to-day shop and field operations including production scheduling, procurement, and on-time delivery
- Lead and develop a non-union team across fabrication, installation, and administration
- Build out a structured sales function and own customer relationships end to end
- Identify new customer opportunities within existing markets, particularly corrugated box, food production, and folding carton
- Work closely with ownership on reporting, planning, and strategic decisions
Ideal Candidate
- 10 to 15 years in manufacturing or fabrication, with Project Management, GM, plant manager, or senior operations experience
- Background in sheet metal fabrication strongly preferred; experience with air conveyance, dust collection, or industrial ductwork is a plus
- Able to read fabrication drawings and understand how custom engineered systems are built and installed
- Comfortable owning a P&L and making operational and commercial decisions without a large support structure
- Strong people manager who can lead a skilled trades workforce without micromanaging
- Entrepreneurial enough to build a sales function from scratch in a lean environment
- Comfortable working closely with hands-on ownership and operating with full transparency
Compensation
Competitive base salary, performance bonus, and equity participation tied to growth milestones.
Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
