Account Executive
Restructuring & Bankruptcy Platform (PE-Backed) | Boston or NYC (Remote)
The Company
DealTeam is representing a fast-growing, AI-powered legal data and information services business serving the U.S. bankruptcy and restructuring professional community. The platform provides timely news, data, and research used by leading law firms, financial advisors, investors, and other professionals navigating complex restructuring situations.
An executive entrepreneur was brought in by the owner to scale the company rapidly, and this new hire will work directly alongside them to drive growth. They are a small, entrepreneurial team based in Boston, New York, and globally.
The Role
We are looking for a Business Development and Sales professional to grow the company’s customer base and deepen relationships across the restructuring ecosystem. You will build and manage relationships with advisors, investors, and restructuring professionals, identify new sales opportunities, and convert interest into long-term customers.
This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys relationship-driven sales, understands (or is eager to learn) the restructuring and bankruptcy landscape, and wants to help shape the growth of a small but rapidly scaling business.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain relationships with restructuring professionals — bankruptcy and restructuring law firms, financial advisors and consultants, and distressed and special situations investors
- Proactively identify and pursue new business through email outreach, referrals, inbound leads, and occasional in-person meetings or conferences
- Conduct product demos and sales conversations, clearly communicating the value of the company’s products
- Manage deals through the full sales cycle, from initial contact to close
- Maintain accurate CRM records and track pipeline activity
- Collaborate with leadership on messaging, pricing, and go-to-market strategy
- Bring customer and prospect feedback back to the team to inform product and content development
Who You Are
You don't need to check every box, but we're generally looking for someone who has:
- Experience in sales, business development, or client-facing roles (B2B preferred)
- Comfort building relationships with sophisticated professional audiences
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — short, direct, and effective
- Intellectual curiosity and the ability to get up to speed on complex subject matter
- A self-directed, organized approach to managing outreach and pipeline
- Interest in bankruptcy, restructuring, finance, legal services, or turnaround investing
Nice to have (but not required):
- Prior experience selling to law firms, financial advisors, or investment professionals
- Familiarity with bankruptcy, restructuring, or distressed investing
- Experience at a startup or small, fast-moving company
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 6-12 months:
- You've built a strong pipeline of qualified prospects across the restructuring community
- You're closing new customer accounts and contributing meaningfully to revenue growth
- You've developed trusted relationships with repeat buyers and influencers
- You're a knowledgeable, credible representative of the company in the market
Why This Role
This is a chance to play a meaningful role in growing a niche, respected information business in a specialized professional market. You'll have real ownership, direct exposure to leadership, and the opportunity to help shape how the company grows its sales and partnerships over the coming years.
