Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, listen actively to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document their needs.
- Explain repair recommendations clearly, including auto estimating, and upsell appropriate services such as oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, or transmission work.
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services like collision repair, suspension, shocks & struts, or diesel engine repairs.
- Manage service writing duties efficiently, including creating detailed work orders and tracking vehicle progress through computer-aided vehicle damage estimating systems.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections covering tire service, air brake systems, auto body repairs, and other mechanical components to identify additional repair opportunities.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records of all service activities and customer interactions.
- Promote dealership services by educating customers on automotive diagnostics, auto estimating, and the benefits of regular vehicle maintenance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in auto service management or as a service technician with a strong mechanical background.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, collision repair processes, and mechanical systems such as transmissions, brakes, suspension, and diesel engines.
- Previous dealership experience is highly preferred for understanding dealership operations and customer expectations.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and trust with customers.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; driving experience is essential.
- Knowledge of auto estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools is a plus.
