DDC Technologies, Inc. is seeking a careful, dependable, and technically minded Laser Production & Test Technician to join our manufacturing and engineering team in Oceanside, New York.

This is a full-time, on-site position involving precision optical work, laser testing, system calibration, and final production testing of advanced medical and aesthetic laser systems.

The ideal candidate has excellent attention to detail, is comfortable working with delicate optical components, and can consistently follow technical procedures and safety requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Clean, inspect, handle, and install precision optical components
  • Work with lenses, mirrors, windows, filters, laser rods, and other optical assemblies
  • Use approved optical cleaning methods, tools, and cleaning solutions
  • Inspect optics for contamination, scratches, coating damage, chips, and other defects
  • Assemble and align optical and laser components according to drawings, work instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Test laser systems and laser subassemblies using specialized optical and electronic equipment
  • Measure laser energy, power, pulse width, repetition rate, beam quality, spot size, and other performance characteristics
  • Operate laser energy meters, power meters, optical sensors, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other specialized test equipment
  • Perform laser calibration and make controlled adjustments within approved procedures
  • Conduct final production testing of completed laser systems before shipment
  • Verify that each system meets required performance, safety, and quality specifications
  • Test system functions, safety interlocks, controls, handpieces, cooling systems, and accessories
  • Troubleshoot optical, electrical, mechanical, and performance-related issues
  • Identify defective components or assemblies and report nonconforming results
  • Record measurements, test results, calibration data, and system configuration information
  • Complete production travelers, inspection forms, test reports, and equipment records
  • Maintain traceability of tested systems, components, and measurement equipment
  • Work closely with engineers and production personnel to resolve technical issues
  • Assist with equipment setup, preventive maintenance, and calibration checks
  • Follow laser safety, electrical safety, ESD, quality, and clean-work-area procedures
  • Maintain an organized and contamination-controlled optical work area
  • Perform additional assembly, testing, inspection, and production duties as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in laser technology, optics, electronics, photonics, testing, manufacturing, or a related technical field
  • Ability to carefully handle and clean delicate optical components
  • Ability to follow detailed SOPs, drawings, test procedures, and written instructions
  • Familiarity with multimeters, oscilloscopes, meters, sensors, or other technical test equipment
  • Basic understanding of electrical and electronic measurements
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to accurately record measurements and test results
  • Ability to recognize defects, inconsistencies, and abnormal equipment behavior
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work independently after training and collaborate with engineering and production teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical school, vocational training, certificate, or associate degree in laser technology, photonics, optics, electronics, electrical engineering technology, or a related field
  • Experience working with lasers or optical systems
  • Experience using laser energy meters, power meters, oscilloscopes, photodetectors, or beam measurement equipment
  • Experience with optical cleaning, optical alignment, or precision assembly
  • Experience testing medical devices, aesthetic equipment, laboratory instruments, or other regulated products
  • Knowledge of laser safety procedures and classifications
  • Experience working under ISO 13485, ISO 9001, FDA, or similar quality-system requirements
  • Experience completing final acceptance testing or quality-control testing
  • Familiarity with high-voltage systems is helpful but not required

Position Details

  • Employment Type: Full-Time

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday
  • Compensation: $60,000, based on experience
