Job Summary: Hands-on Hybrid Infrastructure Engineer
- On-site, local applicants only; remote not supported.
- Hands-on engineering role (not focused on cloud-only, networking, or security; not suitable for leadership-heavy/design-only candidates).
- Primary focus on on-premises infrastructure, especially VMware to Nutanix migrations.
- Involved in tickets, projects, upgrades, and day-to-day operational tasks.
- Design, build, and support enterprise environments with both on-prem and hybrid cloud (Azure) components.
- Engineer and modernize hybrid infrastructures—integrating on-prem data centers with Azure and VMware platforms.
- Lead and execute infrastructure modernization projects, including VM migrations and virtualization upgrades.
- Administer and optimize Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, and hybrid identity integrations.
- Deploy and manage Azure infrastructure (VMs, IaaS, AVD) including automation with PowerShell, Bicep, ARM, or DSC.
- Support, design, and deploy VDI solutions (Citrix/AVD); experience with Citrix a plus.
- Maintain enterprise backup/recovery systems (Commvault), group policies, DNS, DHCP, PKI, and multi-domain environments.
- Monitor and ensure system health, performance, and compliance (SolarWinds, Azure Monitor).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (network, security, DevOps, app dev, cybersecurity).
- Solve complex troubleshooting issues and lead root cause analysis for major incidents.
- Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and documentation for infrastructure platforms.
- Strong focus on automation (PowerShell, Infrastructure as Code), system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and identity protection.
- Requires 8–12 years’ hands-on infrastructure experience (not 15–20 years in leadership).
- Must be proactive, self-driven, and willing to work flexible/off hours as needed.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
