Job Summary:
- On-site Hardware Engineer position (local applicants only)
- Security clearance required (active preferred; interim acceptable to start)
- Focus on mixed-signal board design, FPGA/SoC systems, and hardware testing
- Support and develop spaceflight electrical subsystems (laser communication hardware)
- Design, develop, and test hardware systems including PCBs, processors, and peripherals
- Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, and board bring-up
- Lead and support integration and testing of spaceflight hardware
- Debug complex electrical issues with cross-functional engineering teams (HDL, firmware, mechanical, optical)
- Develop and document test procedures; validate hardware prototypes
- Operate lab equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, PSU)
- Utilize industry-standard EDA tools (Altium, OrCAD, Cadence Allegro)
- Work closely with Mechanical and RF teams for system integration
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years experience in hardware design, especially mixed-signal systems
- Strong background in FPGA/SoC systems, high-speed interfaces, clocking, and power design
- Proficient in PCB schematic capture and layout
- Hands-on experience with lab testing tools
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Programming experience (Python, C, C , Bash)
- Embedded Linux experience
- Background in aerospace, space, or defense hardware development
