What You’ll Do
As a seasonal Survey Field Technician Intern, you can expect your work responsibilities to include:
- Assist survey crews with field data collection for boundary and topographic surveys
- Support the setup and operation of survey equipment, including GPS and total stations
- Take clear, organized field notes and photographs
- Assist with basic field calculations under direction of senior staff
- Support office staff with data processing or drafting tasks as needed
- Learn through hands-on field experience and mentorship
To succeed as a Survey Field Technician Intern, you should bring the following skills and experiences:
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including walking long distances and carrying equipment
- Interest in land surveying, geomatics, engineering, or a related field
- Degree in progress in Geomatics, Surveying, Engineering, or a related program preferred
